On Sunday 16th October, Scanman UK Ltd were involved in the 12.6 K British Legion “Tough Mudder” Major Series 2016 in Wetherby. One of the toughest events we have all taken part in, but at the same time we all loved it and want to do it again, giving 100% all the way. We hope to raise some donations for our chosen charity “Alzheimer’s Society”. You can donate by visiting this page http://www.justgiving.com/ScanmanUK - THANK YOU.
The Scanman Team members were Pete Scanlon, Simon Scanlon, Lloyd Burn, Mark Batey, Colin Weir, Russ Smith, Lee Wilks & Chris Daley. Working together as a team, encouraging each other to keep going to the end. Great day and we would recommend this event to anyone who wants a bit of fun.
Alzheimer's Society is the leading UK care and research charity for people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, their families and carers. To find out more about fundraising for the Society log on to www.alzheimers.org.uk
Dementia can happen to anyone and there's currently no cure. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and the number is set to rise to 1 million by 2021.
When a person with dementia finds that their mental abilities are declining, they often feel vulnerable and in need of reassurance and support. The people closest to them - including their carer’s, friends and family - need to do everything they can to help the person to retain their sense of identity and feelings of self-worth.
Scanman UK, support the "Alzheimer's Society", we believe passionately that life doesn't end when dementia begins.
